A trombone contest for everyone

Disrupting how music contests work!

Due to the Covid-19 crisis trombone festivals and trombone competitions all over the world get cancelled. This situation leaves young trombonists without a goal to practice for. But it can also be a chance to try new concepts and challenge the old standards.

Until today, participating in a trombone contest was an expensive and time consuming endeavour. Young musicians often don’t have the funds to pay contest fees or travel expenses to travel around the world. That means, trombone contests are – in a lot of cases – limited to a fragment of potentially talented players.

Add to that the relatively small audience a contest reaches and you are investing in an event that ignores a large part of trombone players.

Together we can transform a trombone contest into a social media happening and reach thousands of trombone players all over the world!

Categories

Trombonists are going to compete in 4 categories + 1 special price based on Social media Likes.

All players perform one set piece and one free piece.

Audience pick

A special prize to encourage competitors and audience to participate in the social media happening. The players will share their videos on Social media in order to get likes for their performance. Audience will be encouraged to watch more videos and to vote for their favorite player.

This guarantees brand visibility through user generated content!

How does it work?

Easy!

  • Participants register through an online form
  • They publish their recording on Youtube using the hashtag #tbonecontest
  • The jury picks the winners and announces them on social media
  • One special price for the participant with the most Social Media likes

What can I expect?

Brand awareness

Get in front of thousands of trombonists. Not only the participants, but all their friends and followers on social media. We are concentrating on young trombonists, so you are targetting potential future customers.

Show that you are caring

You are caring for the community of trombone players. This contest helps you to show it! We aim not only for the few trombonists who can afford travelling and paying fees, but also for the less lucky, hard working music students who are maybe just as talented. They could never afford participating in a traditional competition, but online they can showcase their skills and connect with the community.

Showcase your artists

What better way to showcase your artists then getting them in the jury? Get them in front of an international audience and position them as authorities in trombone playing.

Show you’re innovative

Show your audience you’re supporting innovative ideas and aren’t afraid to step new paths!
