Massimo Pirone

I am extremely happy to show you some music written by one of Italy’s finest trombonists, Massimo Pirone.

Massimo is a tenor-, bass trombone and tuba player from Rome, Italy.

He has toured and/or recorded with Bill Watrous, Carl Fontana, Stanton Davis, Donald Harrison, Slide Hampton, Steve Turre, Gary Bartz, George Garzone, Gary Smulyan, Lee Konitz, Al Grey, Mike Stern, Bill Holman, Frank Tiberi, Mike Gibbs, Dee Dee Bridgwater, Bob Brookmeyer, George Lewis, Bill Reichenbach, Alan Kaplan, Dick Nash, Les Benedict, Scott Whithfield, West Bones, Los Angeles trombone choir, Chuck Flores Big Band and many more.

He already wrote two method books for trombone and bass trombone published by Mulphedizioni “The jazz bass trombone” and “Complete method for trombone from basics to jazz improvising”.

His newest writings are 20 solos for unaccompanied bass trombone. Some very fun and challenging etudes!
